The directive forces the production and the use of safety and occupational footwears classified according to the standards UNI EN ISO 20344:2012, UNI EN ISO 20345:2012, UNI EN ISO 20347:2012, marked with the mark CE STANDARDS:
UNI EN ISO 20345:2012 safety Footwears with toe cap of protection from impact or crushing up to energy of 200 joules.
UNI EN ISO 20347:2012 Footwears for professional use without protective toe cap.

A - Anti-static footwear
HI - Footwear insulated against heat
CI - Footwear insulated against cold
E - Energy absorption in the heel area
WR - Water resistant footwear
AN - Ankle protection
WRU - Upper water penetration and absorption
HRO - Heat resistance by sole contact
FO – Fuel Oil resistance
SRA - Sole slip resistance on ceramic
SRB - Sole slip resistance on stainless steel
SRC - When both SRA and SRB requirements are met
OB - Basic requirements + one of the requirements for complete footwear shown in the table above
O1 - OB + Closed heel area, anti-static properties, energy absorption in the heel area
O2 - 01 + waterproof uppers,,sole with reliefs
O3 - 02 + perforation resistance of the footwear bottom, sole with reliefs
O4 - Anti-static properties, energy absorption in the heel area
O5 - 04 + perforation resistance of the footwear bottom, sole with reliefs
SB - Basic requirements
S1 - SB + Closed heel area, anti-static properties, energy absorption in the heel area, sole hydrocarbon resistance
S2 - S1 + waterproof uppers, sole with reliefs.
S3 - S2 + resistance to the perforation of the footwear, sole with reliefs
S4 - Anti-static properties, energy absorption in the heel area
S5 - S4 + penetration resistance.
